CLINTON John D. Wolter, 74, of Clinton died Sunday, April 24, 2016 in his home. He was born Aug. 17, 1941 to the late John and Gertrude (Derwent) Wolter in Rockford.

John Graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1959 and continued on his education at UW Platteville.

He enlisted into the U.S. Army and served for three years as an airplane mechanic. John farmed in the Clinton area and worked for Larson’s in Darien until his retirement.

He is survived by his sister, Grace (Robert) Kietzman; two nephews, David (Kim) Kietzman and Joel (Missy) Kietzman and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty and Joan.

John’s Graveside Service took place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Clinton Cemetery with Full Military Burial Rites. A memorial is being established in his name. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
