Volunteers of all ages are welcomed to participate in Make a Difference Day in Brodhead on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 – 11 a.m.

Make a Difference Day is a national event that has been taking place since 1992. According to the event’s website, “Volunteers and communities come together with a common mission: to improve the lives of others. No matter who you are or where you’re from, everyone has the power to do something that improves the life of another.”

Participants in Brodhead’s Make a Difference Day will meet at the Brodhead Fire Department Saturday morning. Transportation will be provided to work sites. Some of the work that volunteers will do includes: raking or cleaning yards, the arboretum or downtown planters; “Trick-or-Treating” for non-perishable items to be donated; collecting trash; making tie blankets for Family Promise of Green County; making cards, scarecrows, or bookmarks; and visiting area nursing homes.

Adults interested in volunteering should consider donating treats for volunteers, donating fleece fabric for blankets, supervising, or transporting workers. Anyone interested in getting involved with Make a Difference Day should contact Stephanie Tresemer at stresemer@brodhead.k12.wi.us or 897-2184, ext. 226.
