Brodhead graduate helps propel university team

Taylor Bluemel, Brodhead alumnus and member Taylor University’s cross country team, had a memorable day on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The Trojans won their fourth-straight Crossroads League Championship in a 10-team field on Saturday. Taylor University had a trio of runners place inside the top-eight to pace the Trojans. Mae Gimre led the pack with a second-place finish in a time of 18:15.7. Former Cardinal Bluemel ran a spectacular race and recorded a fourth-straight personal best time of 18:42.3, which secured seventh place. That time was the 15th-best time in Taylor University’s cross country program’s history. Rachel Blagg earned eighth in a time of 18:46.7.
