MADISON – Ciera Ballmer and Casey Waite of the Clinton FFA Chapter received the Wisconsin FFA Degree at the 86th State FFA Convention at the Alliant Energy Center of Dane County – Exhibition Hall in Madison, June 17. The Wisconsin FFA Association conferred the State FFA Degree to 300 members.

The State FFA Degree is the highest degree a state association can bestow upon its members.

To be considered for this honor the FFA members must meet the following minimum qualifications: have productively earned and invested $1,000 or worked 1500 hours; been an FFA member for at least two years and had 360 hours of agricultural classroom instruction; given two agricultural related speeches, each a minimum of five minutes in length; been involved in at least five FFA activities above the local level and participated in two community activities.

The Wisconsin Association of FFA is a leading student organization due to the efforts of more than 19,000 students across the state.

With a focus on premier leadership, personal growth and career success, students’ FFA activities complement agricultural classroom instruction by giving them an opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge while gaining real-world experience.

These activities are dependent on donor funding through the Wisconsin FFA Foundation. For more information about Wisconsin FFA and the Wisconsin FFA Foundation visit www.wisconsinffa.org or www.wisconsinffafoundation.org, become a fan of Wisconsin FFA Foundation on Facebook, or call 715-659-4807.
