CLINTON – Brice Enright, a sophomore this coming school year at Clinton High School, and CHS Cross Country runner is coordinating a fund raising effort to benefit the Clinton Community Outreach Program’s Food Pantry.

Brice has volunteered at the monthly food distribution for about 5 years now. He has seen how much it takes to make the pantry run both from a work effort and a financial effort.

The Food distribution is solely available by donations from Churches, businesses and individuals around the Clinton community.

Brice wanted to figure out a way to make a difference and since he has run in a number of 5K, 10K and 1/2 marathon races around the Midwest…he decided that a 5K run/2 mile walk might be

a great way to raise some funds.

Brice started planning at the beginning of 2015. He secured three sponsors (Scot Forge, American Family Insurance – Deb DuCharme Agency & Town Bank – Clinton).

Simce Scot Forge is the primary sponsor…Brice met with Denise Saunders the Administrative Coordinator at Scot Forge and asked if he could name the run, “Forge For Food 5K.”

Denise thought it was great and so the First running of the Forge For Food 5K and 2 mile Walk will take place on Saturday, July 18 at Carver’s Roehl Park, north of Clinton at 9 a.m.

This is an out and back race that is part trail run, part road run. The road run portion tackles one large hill. Medals will go to top three runners of each age division, with plaques going to male and female overall winners.

Cost to enter is $25. For more information, call Brice at (608) 774-3746.
