Cardinals end regular season on high note as Nyhus hits 1,000th career point

The Cardinals closed out the regular season with a defensive clinic as Brodhead cruised to a 41-23 Rock Valley South win over rival Parkview last Thursday.

The Cardinals came out on fire and raced to a commanding 18-2 lead midway through the opening half. Senior Catherine Hazeltine sparked the red-hot start with a three. Junior Brooke Bescup drove into the lane, drawing defenders, and kicked it out to sophomore Alexis Oliver, who buried the corner three to put the Cardinals up 7-0. Junior Erin Nyhus drilled a step-back, right wing three during the early surge. That was just the start of a night to remember for Nyhus. Brodhead displayed their inside game as senior Morgan Cook converted on the block off an excellent entry feed by Bescup.
