Museum offers wallop of history lesson

When I learned that the museum across the street from the Independent-Register office was open weekends, I began metaphorically rubbing my palms together as I decided which freelancer I would send over to take some photos, grab some history, and piece together what should be a truly interesting story that basically wrote itself.

But then this nagging began to tug at my conscience. I should go to that museum. I am the out-of-town carpetbagger who now edits the small-town weekly newspaper. If anybody belongs at this museum, it is me.
