A social media post touched off a flurry of testimonials and attestations, and counters, among Brodhead diners who are put off by the manner in which local police are checking IDs.

At about 9 a.m. Sunday morning, a post originating from Facebook group “My Hometown Brodhead Wisconsin, generated the attention of not only Brodhead residents, but also residents of other towns such as Orfordville, Wis. and Clinton, Wis. The concern surrounding the original post pertained to the Brodhead Police Department and the demeanor of certain officers as they perform license checks at area taverns and restaurants.
