BRADFORD – On Oct. 19, at 2:45 p.m. the Clinton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 9204 E Creek Road lot #1 in the Town of Bradford. This was the first residence located at the entrance of the trailer park.

Dispatch advised Clinton units that the trailer was fully engulfed in flames and filled with smoke. The first arriving Engine Clinton 44 found the residential trailer fully engulfed in flames on the east end and smoke filled on the west end.

There are trailers located on the south and east side causing possible exposures. Engine 44 crew deployed a ground monitor on the south side of the fire and knocked the fire down through a side window and opening of wall that had burned through.

Engine 44 crew then deployed a 1.75 inch hand line to the east end and it was used to mop up the remaining fire and hot spots.

When Turtle’s engine arrived on scene they deployed a 1.75 inch line to the north side of the trailer and entered the side door to extinguish the fire on that side. Overhaul was performed on the fire scene after extinguishment.

The east end of the residence was completely destroyed and the west end was severely damaged by fire, smoke and water.

There was exposure damage to the trailers to the south and east of the fire. The overhead electrical wiring burned off at the transformer pole and the overhead cable TV line was damaged.

Fire crews were on scene for 2 hours and an additional hour at the station for cleanup. Mutual Aid was received from Turtle, City of Beloit, Town of Beloit, City of Janesville, Darien, Edgerton, Sharon Harlem Roscoe, Boone County 3, MD-1 and S.W.E.P.T. Whitewater Chief and Engine and Milton Tender provided change of quarters.

The owners are Andrew and Jennifer Bailey, same address as the fire. The residence was not insured and there is no known loss amount at this time.

There was no one home at the time of the fire and it was called in by a neighbor. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The origin appears to have been in the living room area of the trailer.
