DUANE VICTOR SCHNEIDER

Duane Victor Schneider passed away on Wednesday January 16, 2025 at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Janesville, Wi to Chris and Florence (Clark) Schneider. Duane graduated from Brodhead in 1950. He than started working for Schlittler Construction. He married Kathryn Dunwiddie October 25, 1952. Three short months later Duane was drafted into the United States Army and then to the Korean War. Upon his return he went back to being a Dozer operator with Schlittler Construction and eventually a part owner in the company. They welcomed three children into their family. Steven (Paula) Schneider, Jayne (Steve) Platts and Robert (Chris) Schneider. Two grandchildren Stephenie (Jake) Peterson and Aaron (Jenessa) Schneider. Four great grandchildren Miles and Ellie Peterson and Weslee and Colt Schneider. Duane put in some long hours as a dozer operator and his time off was spent with his family and friends. Duane and Kathryn belonged to a few church groups and a card club. Later on the grandkids came along and more time was spent with them and attending all of their events including a few dozer rides. Duane is survived by his three children, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a nephew Allen (Jill) Schultz and niece Joy (Bob) Burns and their children. He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Kathryn and sister Joyce Schultz and brother in law Harold Schultz. Services were held at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home on Tuesday January 21, 2025 with Visitation from 9:30AM to 11:30AM with funeral service following.
