ROBERT YOUNG

Brodhead – Robert Young, age 82, passed away on February 25, 2025 at the New Glarus Nursing Home.

Robert was born on June 7, 1942 to parents Fred Sr. and Marian Young in Walworth, WI. Robert married his late wife Nancy on June 15th, 1968. He worked for General Motors for 30 plus years and retired in 1998. He loved carpentry and anything to do with fixing cars. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an avid participator and member of the American Legion. He liked to sing his old country songs around his house and nursing home and above all else Robert loved spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Penny (Steve) Mahlkuch; grandchildren, Bobbie Wurster, Daniel and Jacob Mahlkuch, Dustin and Tyson Young; greatgrandchildren, Cohen and Dalton Wurster; sister, Helen Hoppe; a special niece, Cindy Galston; special cousin, Jeannie Anderson.

Robert was preceded by his wife Nancy; son, Hoyt Young; brothers, Carl Young, Fred Young Jr., Glenn Young, John Young, David Young; and his parents.

Visitation will be held at the Dl Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 starting at 10:00AM until Noon with Memorial Service starting right after. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery. www.dlnewcomerfuneralhome.com 608-897-2484
