KAREN RUTH COOMER

Karen Ruth Coomer, age 73 of Beloit WI passed away at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, WI on April 12, 2025. She was born on July 30, 1951 to James and Edith Burkholder, after 2 years of age Karen was raised by her Stepfather Williams St. John.

Karen graduated from Craig Highschool in Janesville, WI in 1969. She married the love of her life Steven Coomer on September 21, 1998. Steven and Karen had five children. Karen loved to knit and was known for just how talented she was. She loved animals, reading and spending time with her loved ones. Karen enjoyed giving to animal shelters and making helmet liners for the troops.

Karen is survived by her husband Steven Coomer; children Jake (Tracey) Heyer, Stephanie (Welton) Greenlee, Tim (Jaclynn) Coomer, Nicole Miller; Brother Paul Burkholder; In-Laws Harmon (Mavis) Coomer; Loving Rainee; Grandchildren Sarah, Leah, Michael, Neriah, Lexi, Hallie, Olive, Huxley, Adalaive; Greatgrandchildren Talon, Brantley, Zane; Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins; A life long best friend Gail Kuehn.

Karen is preceded in death by mother Edith St. John; father James Burkholder; stepfather Williams St. John; Brothers Jim Burkholder, John Burkholder, David Burkholder; son Brian Heyer.

Services were already held for Karen at DL Newcomer Funeral Home.

Karen was laid to rest in Avon Cemetery near Brodhead, WI.
