Staple community member retires after 42 years
By Siara Schwartzlow, Editor
After serving as an assistant to two Brodhead dentists, Deb Hofmeister retired from Dr. Andrew Kebus’s dental office at the end of June, almost exactly 42 years after beginning in her position.
“It’s been a pleasure,” she said. “It’s been a true enjoyment.”
Hofmeister graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College and began her career in Brodhead on June 18, 1974. She was invited to this position by Dr. Nelson, the dentist in the building at the time. Over the past four decades, she has assisted with dental procedures, and she has filled in as a receptionist when necessary, helping to treat and befriend thousands of Brodhead’s community members.
