Janesville Man Wins $50,000 in Illinois Lottery
A visit to South Beloit resulted in a $50,000 Illinois Lottery win for Janesville, Wis., resident John Iverson. “Whenever I am in Illinois, I buy a Lotto ticket,” he said. “On this particular trip I bought a Powerball ticket too, and I won!” he said when he recently presented his winning Powerball ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Springfield.
Iverson won a $50,000 prize when his Quick Pick ticket matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in the Saturday, July 30, drawing. The winning numbers were 11 – 17 – 21 – 23 – 32 – and the Powerball number was 05. An occasional lottery player, Iverson said he does not regularly check his tickets. “I just checked this winning ticket a couple of weeks ago.”
He plans to spend some of his winnings on a vacation and invest the remainder. He bought his winning ticket at Road Ranger, 6070 Gardner St., in South Beloit. The retailer received a bonus of $500, one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket. For more information about Powerball please visit www.illinoislottery.com.
