Clinton High School play ‘Harvey’ set for next weekend
Clinton High School presents “Harvey” on March 16, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. on the Clinton Middle School stage. Tickets are available at the door.
Harvey is a comedy/drama about Elwood P. Dowd. He is a middle-aged, amiable though somewhat eccentric man whose best friend is an invisible 6′ 3½” tall rabbit named Harvey. Harvey is a pooka, a benign but mischievous creature from Celtic mythology who is especially fond of social outcasts (like Elwood).
Elwood has driven his sister and niece to distraction by introducing everyone he meets to his friend, Harvey. His family is unsure whether Dowd’s obsession with Harvey is a product of his tendency to drink or to mental illness.
Elwood’s sister, Veta Louise Simmons tries to have him committed to a sanatorium. And the play continues from there.
Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for adults. The Clinton Middle School is located at 115 Milwaukee Road.
