Lois Scheidegger

BRODHEAD – Lois E. Scheidegger, age 96, of Brodhead, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe.

She was born May 30, 1919 in Rock City, IL, the daughter of Samuel and Hazel (Schrack) Meinert. She married Donovan Scheidegger Oct. 19, 1935. He passed away April 10, 1984.

Lois, in her early years, was engaged in farming and had worked for Advance Transformer, Monroe. She loved to dance, country music, gardening, canning, wallpapering, and rides in the country. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Scheidegger, Brodhead, Mary and Bill Bussey, Brodhead Raymond Scheidegger, Juda, Patricia (Marvin) Klemm, Freeport, Ill., Sharon (Jim) Jeremiason, Cedarville, Ill.; two sisters, Dorothy Friedrich, Monroe, and Betty Gilbough, Machesney Park, Ill.; nine grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and a sister.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at the D.L. Newcomer Funeral Home, Brodhead. Pastor Krystal Goodger officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Online condolences may be made at www.dlnewcomerfuneralhome.com
