Council, Fire District at stalemate over 3% hike

The City Council reconvened last Tuesday to tie up loose ends with the budget, enter into closed sessions regarding the void left by outgoing deputy Chief Brian Raupp and direction regarding the Senior Center project, among other business.

In budget business, Alderperson Deb Fox characterized talks between the city and the Fire District as at a “stalemate” on the district’s proposed 3.3-percent budget increase.
