The Livestock Study Group, a body established last August to find scientific recommendations to the County Board on protecting ground and surface water, air quality and public health, heard from Mark Cain, a wastewater engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Cain oversees CAFOs – confined animal feeding operations – in primarily Rock, Green and Dane counties at their meeting Jan. 9 at the Green County Justice Center.
The group is comprised of County Board members Paul Beach, Ken Hodgson, Oscar Olson, Tom Daly, and Barb Kattiger, as well as members of the public Jen Brooks, Craig Elder, Bert Paris, and Bethany Storm.
