Brodhead man charged with firing gun while drunk

A Brodhead man was arrested for allegedly being armed while intoxicated and recklessly endangering safety after police responded to a neighborhood for reports of shots being fired Oct. 19.

Brodhead Dispatch received several 911 calls at 4:46 p.m. about shots being fired in the 1400 block of W. 4th Avenue. Witnesses directed police to a residence in the same block. Police contacted the occupants and through investigation recovered automatic handguns and several bullet casings.
