Hospital reaches ‘all-time high’ of COVID cases Monroe health group suspends procedures to keep up with demand
SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Monroe Clinic Medical Group began suspending select, non-urgent medical procedures beginning Monday, citing an all-time high of COVID patients.
“Like many other healthcare facilities, SSM Health is experiencing extremely high patient volumes,” according to a press release from the health group. “While our staff has done an incredible job maintaining a steady state of care throughout the COVID pandemic, we have recently reached an all-time high of hospitalized COVID patients, in addition to facing bed capacity and staffing challenges.
