A closer look at what a city administrator does for municipalities

The Brodhead City Council is asking for residents’ interest on the creation of a city administration position at the Tuesday April 5, 2022, Spring Election, via a non-binding referendum.

In 2017 the city completed its 20-year Comprehensive Plan that is required by state statue. One of the goals of the plan was to create a city administrator position with an emphasis on economic development.

If the referendum passes, the city would hold another referendum in the future that is binding to approve a tax levy increase to create the position. Officials recently released the following information regarding the upcoming referendum:
