It’s that time of year when all the hard work of local youngsters is brought together at the County Fair. If they are lucky they may go on to the State Fair or another local fair with their projects. The smell of popcorn, fried foods, cotton candy and animal manure fills the air; there is the sound of youngsters shouting for joy as they soar up and down on the Midway rides.

We old folks get a smile on our face while looking back on some of the special memories we recall about fairs from our past. Although each fair is much the same, they do have some differences and are special in their own way, safety practices while attending any one of these Fairs are universal. So how can you assure your visit to a county fairs a safe, healthy and happy one?
