BETTY H. ELMER

Betty H Elmer, 101 of Brodhead passed away peacefully October 19, 2024 at Collinwood memory care. Daughter of Ulrich and Elizabeth (Strauss) Huggler, she was born May 7, 1923 in Monroe, WI. She attended rural school in Beloit and later was employed at Parker Pen in Janesville until her marriage. She married Ervin Elmer on December 29, 1945 in Monroe at the parsonage of Mt Olive Lutheran church by Elder A. Toepel. They farmed in the Brodhead – Albany vicinity until their retirement in 1977, then moving to rural Brodhead. She continued working at Swiss colony until she retired in 1984.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ervin in 2014, great grandson Mason in 2009, brothers Harrold Huggler and Pem Pengra of Argyle, three daughter in laws Jean in 2016, Claudia in 2023 and Becky in 2023.

Betty is survived her sons Dennis of Janesville, Richard of Albany, Donald of Mineral Point, grandchildren Christy, Chad (Meredith), Naomi (Brian) of Cottonwood AZ, and great grandchildren children Noah, Kylan, Harper and Willow.

Visitation will be held at DL Newcomer Funeral home in Brodhead WI on Saturday October 26, 2024 from 9:30am to 10:30am with funeral service to follow.
