Boys drop back-and-forth battle with Whitewater

Brekan Day and Parker Johnson set up a trap

The Cardinals (3-8 overall, 2-5 Rock Valley) couldn’t quite pull off a late comeback as the Whitewater Whippets edged Brodhead 48-47 in a Rock Valley crossover matchup last Thursday.

The opening 12 minutes were a seesaw affair with eight different lead changes. Junior JusticeTway converted down low, and junior Brekan Day knocked down a free throw to put the Cardinals up 6-4. Logan Rasmussen answered with a put back to tie the game at six. The Whippets snatched several offensive rebounds,which proved costly for the Cardinals.
