Brodhead library eyes dropping late fines

Officials at the Brodhead library may decide to no longer charge fines for overdue items. The library board will take up that question after first discussing it at its July 15 meeting.

In an interview, library director Angela Noel said that only four of the seven board members were at that meeting, so the board decided to table any decision until a later time.

The board also wants to talk to the city council before it changes policy because it has a small impact on the budget, Noel said.
