The Brodhead library will be holding a “food for fines” drive next month.

Following last week’s library board meeting, library director Angela Noel reports the program will be offered from Oct. 15 through Oct. 31. For every food item received, the library will remove $1 in someone’s fine. “Which I think is a pretty good deal,” said Noel. The reduction does not apply to charges for things like lost or damaged books, however.
