Brodhead softball was already off to a good start to their 2021 season, going 11-1 in the months of April and May. That success has carried over into June, as they have gone 4-0 since the turn of the calendar.

On June 1, the Cardinals kicked off the month with an offensive explosion as they tallied 16 runs against the Clinton Cougars. It was a game for the long ball, as Brodhead combined for five home runs. McKenna Young and Taetum Hoesly both had two-homer games, while Sophia Leitzen hit one long ball. The Cougars never had a chance as the Cards put up multi-run innings in each of the first three innings, quickly putting the game out of reach. Brodhead would win by a score of 16-5, getting June off to the right start.
