Brodhead student’s Silver Key Award entry to display in Milwaukee Art Museum Feb. 4 to March 19
By Erica Foulker, Brodhead middle school
Eighth grade Brodhead Middle School student Brielle Engen has shown some amazing skills when it comes to art. She works hard at what she does, and her passion shows through her work.
Brielle has worked in a variety of media including graphite, watercolor, acrylics, oils, resin and ceramics.
As her art teacher, I find her attention to detail incredible. The first sketchbooks I saw of Brielle’s as a 7th grade student made my jaw drop. She is beyond her years.
I am incredibly proud to have her as an art student. Seeing her grow as an artist and watching her at work fills my cup. It’s a true blessing.
As I’ve taught her, I’ve discovered that art has always been a part of her life. Brielle’s mother, Thea Engen, described her daughter’s interest in art and its development over time.
