Blake Burns slides head first into home to bring the Cards within 2 during the 5th inning

BRODHEAD — The four-seed Brodhead-Juda baseball team couldn’t quite overcome an early hole as five-seed Edgerton beat the Cardinals 11-7 in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal last Thursday.

The Crimson Tide took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second. Daniel Zeimet ripped a single into center field and swiped second base with one out. Matthew Klubertanz followed with an RBI double to left field to give Edgerton a 1-0 lead.  Pick up week’s print edition for full story…..
