Cardinals compete in annual Beloit Daily News Invitational

BELOIT – On a rainy Friday afternoon, local track and field athletes competed in the 37th annual Beloit Daily News Invitational.
Brodhead-Juda track and field results from the May 8 event are as follows:
In the girls 200-meter dash, freshman Erin Nyhus placed third with a time of 28.49. Freshman Morgan Tresemer earned eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.28. Brodhead-Juda had an impressive showing in the 800-meter run taking two of the top three spots. Junior Taylor Bluemel continued her consistent season taking second at 2:25.70. Freshman Cora Purdue took third with a time of 2:27.19.
In the 100-meter hurdles, senior Maggie Douglas placed sixth with a time of 18.97. Maggie Douglas secured third at 53.94 and sophomore Kayla Douglas placed sixth with atime of 55.10 in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Cardinals took fifth in the 4×100 meter relay and fourth in the 4×200 meter relay. Brodhead-Juda had a solid showing in the 4×400 meter relay placing second at 4:28.44. The Cardinals won the distance medley at 13:13.31. The team consisted of senior Morgan Adkins, freshman Madee Harding, Bluemel and Tresemer.
