The Brodhead-Juda boys’ and girls’ squads opened the 2017 season at the Tri-State Small Schools Meet on Saturday, March 25. The boys placed fifth with 49 team points, and the girls earned third with 45 team points, edging Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg by three points.

In the boys’ 55-meter dash, sophomore Jeff Williams earned fourth with a time of 6.99 seconds. Junior Justice Tway secured third in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 56.74 seconds. Senior Tyler Urness ran a solid race and placed seventh with a time of 58.72 seconds. Freshman James Harper earned 17th at 2:24.19 in the 800-meter run. Junior Alex Aguilar secured 22nd with a time of 2:28.83.
