Cards fall to the ’cats in third round of playoffs

The 2021 Brodhead-Juda Cardinals went on one of the best runs the program has ever seen. Including the 2021 spring season, this year’s senior class on 17 consecutive games.
After going 9-0 through the 2021 regular season, the Cards kept their momentum rolling into the postseason as they reached Level 3 of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association’s football playoffs, but fell short against the Belleville Wildcats Nov. 5.
Despite the loss, Head Coach Jim Matthys, helped to restore the Bordhead football program to its winning ways.
The Cards earned their first playoff victory in seven years with a round one shellacking of Watertown Luther Prep. As the two seed, the Cardinals kept it rolling in round two when they dominated a conference opponent in Richland Center 42-3.
