Charlotte Joyleen “Char” MacDougall, 85, of Brodhead, died Dec. 26, 2021 in SSM St. Mary Health Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, after a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 7, 1936 in Davis, Illinois to the late Mr. and Mrs. Everette and Stella (Nyman) Olson.

She graduated from Durand High School in 1954.

She married her high school sweetheart Curtis MacDougall in Durand, Illinois on Oct. 16, 1955.

She retired from Amerock Corp. in 2000 after more than 35 years of employment.

She is a member of Durand United Methodist Church, where she has been active in many different committees.

She was the Durand High School Alumni Secretary for many years.

She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and the many bus trips through the years.

She is survived by her sons: Randy (Gail) MacDougall, Bruce (Jolene) MacDougall, Steven (Diane) MacDougall; an adopted mom by Arlene (Taylor) Fillmore; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is further preceded in death by her husband, sister Vivian Binkley and brother Larry Olson.

A funeral ceremony was held Dec. 31, 2021 in Durand United Methodist Church with Pastor Brenda Byrne officiating. Burial is at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois.
