City clerk seeks write-in candidates

Alderman Casey Jones will be the sole name on the ballot in the April 5 election despite four open seats on City Council.

Mayor Troy Nyman and aldermen Timothy Schadewaldt, Robert Moon and Casey Jones filed notice of non-candidacy papers with the clerk’s office.

Jones is seeking the mayoral seat, leaving the three incumbent aldermanic seats up for grabs by write-in candidates, according to the city clerk.

“At this point in time we are open to registered write-ins,” City Clerk Nikolai Wahl said Friday, after the filing deadline.
