City considers land purchase for affordable housing project
The Brodhead Common Council decided recently to move ahead with a project aimed at building affordable housing in the city.
A representative from Dimension Development first presented the Driftless Homes project to the council last month, proposing an owner-occupied “pocket neighborhood” for low-income households. Dimension Development would apply for grants and work with Southwestern Community Action Program to build the homes.
