The Wisconsin Association of School Boards has set Oct. 1-7, 2017 as Wisconsin School Board Week as a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our communi-ties.
Clinton Community School District is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate Wisconsin School Board Week to honor local board members for their commitment to the children of our outstanding com-munity.
“It takes strong schools to build a strong community, and these men and women devote countless hours in help-ing to make Clinton Community School District a destination district for all families,” District Administrator, Jim Brewer said.
“They make tough decisions every month and devote many hours studying educational initiatives, financial im-plications, and regulatory policies in order to provide the kind of accountability our constituents expect.”
District Administrator Brewer said the key work of school boards is to raise student achievement by:
Creating a vision with high expectations for quality teaching and learning that supports strong student outcomes;
Establishing a set of cohesive policies to transform vision into reality;
Aligning and sustaining resources to meet district goals
Partnering with the community, and being proactive in addressing issues that affect education on local, state, and national levels; and
