CLINTON – The Clinton Board of Education announced last week the appointment of Milton Thompson to serve as the district’s interim adminstrator following the retirement of Dr. Randy Refsland.

Thompson will assume his duties Nov. 2, 2015.

“McPherson and Jacobson, the district’s recruiter assisted the board in securing the services of Mr. Thompson until a permanent district administrator in named,” said Jill Gunderson, Board President.

“Mr. Thompson is a career educator and has served as a district administrator in Beloit, North Chicago, and most recently, Pulaski school districts.

“Mr. Thompson brings a wealth of experience that will provide transitional stability until the board selects a permanent administrator to begin on or before July 1, 2016.”

The District, during the month of September, with the assistance of McPherson Jacobson, completed several listening session with four stakeholder groups: Clinton High School students, administrative staff members, district teachers and support staff, and 22 community members.

A complete report of the listening session and online survey is available on the district’s web site, www.clinton.k12.wi.us.

In October, the board worked exclusively with McPherson Jacobson to review the stakeholder report and outline the interview process expected to occur in late January.

On Jan. 12, 2016, the consultants will meet with the Board of Education to review candidates and assist the Board as it selects final candidates to be interviewed.

It is expected that the district will name its next administrator no later than March 2016.

After the district administrator has been hired, a McPherson & Jacobson consultant will facilitate a Board/District Administrator workshop to assist in the establishment of performance objectives for the new administrator.
