CLINTON – Clinton Public Library Foundation announces that it has received a grant for $1,782 from the Bill and Marge Kersten and the Community Enhancement Fund, components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Inc.The grant opportunity will make possible a promotional campaign for Clinton Public Library services and needs.

“Clinton Public Library opens doors for curious minds, nurtures learning and creativity, enriches lives, and creates opportunities by bringing people and ideas together,” said Clinton Public Library Foundation (CPLF) Co-President Mary Ann Inman. “The CPLF Board of Directors was delighted to find out that our non-profit was selected as a grant recipient. We plan to stretch every dollar to help the library market services and space needs!”

Clinton Public Library is the heart of the community. The library has a group of adults that come daily to read newspapers. In addition, it is a valuable resource for adult one on one and group programming, how-to training, job seekers, genelogy searchers, fact finders, ESL tutoring, and readers seeking fact and fiction in print and electronically.

The library is within walking distance for most students in attending Clinton Public Schools. The library provides children and teens (including those attending private and home schools) with summer and after school reading programs, entertainment, and technolgy. After school backpacks line the exterior wall spaces, the computers are full, and programs usually full.

The Village has paid for a space needs study and the library eagerly awaits results due within the next month. Once consultants determine needs the library foundation plans to get the word out about library services and needs.

CPLF plans to use direct mail, brochures, videos, social media, website and other electonic or print media to promote literacy and increase public awareness of library space needs to enhance existing services.

This grant, made available through a Community Enhancement Grant funded by Bill and Marge Kersten, will help Clinton Public Library Foundation promote library services and space needs.
