Brodhead Memorial Public Library officials are loosening COVID restrictions.

Last Thursday the library board decided that masks will be encouraged, rather than required.

“That’s the biggest change,” said Library Director Angela Noel following the meeting.  She noted that last month the library brought out more furniture for public use.

Last week the board talked about bringing out toys on a rotating basis so staff has time to clean them before they are used again.

“We won’t have all the toys back but we’ll start working toward that in the next month,” said Noel.

Library leaders also expect to make one of two of the children’s computers available, noting the close proximity with having both open.

Also, the library will be developing new policies in dealing with COVID based on newly-released Centers for Disease Control guidelines for low, medium and high levels of COVID, and what the guidelines might mean for the library in serving the community.
