DIANE LYNN JORGENSON
February 28, 1956 – May 11, 2024
Diane Lynn Jorgenson (Sopher), 68, of South Wayne, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Sienna Crest Memory Care after a long battle with Huntington’s Disease.
She was born February 28, 1956, in Monroe, WI, the daughter of the late LaVern G. Sopher and Doris R. Sopher. Diane graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1974 and later went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in physical education from UW Platteville. Diane had a great work ethic and worked at multiple jobs throughout the years. She loved being a substitute/summer school teacher, coach and bus driver at Black Hawk Schools, and serving as a Sunday school teacher at Wiota Lutheran Church, where she was an active member.
Diane loved spending time with her three children and watching them play sports as they grew up. She also loved the outdoors and working with her horses. Diane was a loving mother and took great joy in being a grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Diane is survived by her three children: Craig (Amanda) Jorgenson of Fort Atkinson, WI, Channelle (Michael) Kohn of South Wayne, WI, and Cassie (TJ) Jungbluth of Cottage Grove, WI; two grandchildren, Briella and Brayden Jorgenson; five siblings: Gerald (Kathi) Sopher of Lake Geneva, WI, Susan (Loren) Rosenthal of Chula Vista, CA, Dennis (Micki) Sopher of Lake Geneva, WI, Marsha Krause of Sparta, WI, and Bryce (Hendricka) Sopher of Seattle, WA; and many other relatives and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents LaVern and Doris Sopher, her twin sister Deitra Sopher and sister Margie Wakefield of Wausau, WI.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guzi’s Hunt for the Cure Foundation, a foundation with the mission of eradicating Huntington’s Disease.
A memorial visitation will be held at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with burial of her cremated remains to conclude the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead.
A celebration of life will be held at Wiota Lutheran Church in Wiota on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
