The Kelch Aviation Museum at Brodhead airport will celebrate its grand opening this weekend. Years of fundraising and countless hours of volunteer work have gone into making the opening possible.

After five years of planning and fundraising, Brodhead’s Kelch Aviation Museum is finally opening to the public.

Starting at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, and running through the weekend, the new attraction — located at Brodhead

Airport — is hosting a grand opening event, complete with a small celebration and ribbon cutting, special tours, a movie night, food, children’s crafts, prizes, a costume contest, photo ops and free ice cream. Admission to the grand opening is free.

In addition, the airport will also be hosting Pietenpol fly-in weekend as an extra treat for aviation lovers.
