Five wrestlers to compete in sectionals

The Brodhead-Juda wrestling squad had five individuals qualify for sectionals at the WIAA Division 2 Beloit Turner Regional last Saturday. The Cardinals took fourth as a team with 148 points.

“We did great in the tournament,” coach Bill Davis said.“Turner, Evansville-Albany, and Monroe we figured would be the top three teams, and that’s the way it turned out. But to sneak into the fourth-place finish — that’s a great day. That’d probably be where I would have hoped for coming into the meet. I was hoping we could get four kids through, and we ended up with five kids through, so an excellent day. I’m very proud of the kids.”
