Frederick Allan Fulton Jr, 87 of Brodhead WI passed away at Monroe Hospital, WI on March 23, 2025. Fred Fulton was born March 4, 1938, to Frederick and Lela (Wagner) Fulton in Ogle County, IL.  His first 6 years of school were in the one room Cedar Bluff school, completing his education (grades 7-12) at Mt Morris High, Mt Morris, IL in 1955.
Fred joined the US Air Force when he was 17 years old, in the summer of 1955, to see the world as an aircraft mechanic (A&P).  He served two years in Yokota, Japan and two years at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana where he was honorably discharged in 1959.
Fred married Joanne Horst in 1958, they had four children Nancy (Bell), Daniel, Michael and Susan (Schwartzlow).
In 1979 he married his wife of over 45 years Herta (Bauer).  He welcomed 3 stepchildren Angelika (Angie), Daniel (Danny), and Patricia (Patty).
Fred enjoyed working with his hands as a tractor mechanic for over 40 years at Studers and Evergreen Equipment in Monroe WI until finally retiring at 72.
He liked to travel to Germany, and he had a passion for woodworking and tinkering with anything and everything keeping his hands busy.
Fred’s farm life upbringing led him and his green thumb to enjoy caring for his yard and garden.  He found a certain satisfaction conquering jigsaw puzzles in his final days.
Fred is survived by his wife; Herta Fulton; children; Nancy (Bell), Daniel, Michael and Susan (Schwartzlow), stepchildren; Angelika (Angie), Daniel (Danny), and Patricia (Patty), 11 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren, sisters; Ellen (Peterson) and Linda (Orsted).
Fred is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Nellie, Betty and Lee and his brother Robert.
A funeral service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 16529 W Church Rd, Brodhead, WI, 53520, on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A burial and luncheon will follow the service.
