Gary Lee Burrington, age 71, of Brodhead, died at the Monroe Clinic Hospital, Monroe, on March 29, 2022 after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1950 in Freeport, Illinois to the late Donald and Dolores (Wiesenberg) Burrington.

He worked for more than 30 years at the Foundry in Browntown before retiring.

He loved fishing, playing solitaire, watching old westerns and building model planes and cars.

He is survived by his three children, Kurt (Jana) Burrington of Illinois, Karassa (Dave) Hendrickson of Illinois and Kendra (Jay) Clark of Brodhead; four step children, Kim (Justin) Luebke of Fort Atkinson, Melissa Paulson of Janesville, Brenda Kothe of Beloit and Becky (Shawn) Schiller of Boston; 17 grandchildren, Ciara, Kody, Korey, Ashley, Damian, Cassie, Trent, Brianna, Garrett, Mariah, Keegan, Connor, MacKenzie, Tyler, Dylan, Violet and Maddie; two siblings, Michael and Ann  Burrington; his ex-wife, Nancy Burrington (whom he wanted to re-marry) and his dog, Paco.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.

Services were held at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead on April 3.

Cremation rites will be accorded and his cremated remains will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead at a later date.
