Harold Roy Schultz, age 89, died on Feb. 23, 2022 while at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1933 in South Beloit, Illinois to the late Vernon Schultz and Elsie (Jensen) Cowell.

He was a Brodhead High School graduate in 1951. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War Conflict from 1952-1953. After his service, he married Joyce Schneider on March 15, 1953. She died in 1977.

He later married Wanda Mize on Feb. 14, 1984 and she died in 2001.

He worked for Osborn Plumbing and Heating for many years and then later for the Pipe Fitters Union  Local No. 601 before his retirement at 65.

He was a member of the Brodhead VFW Post 6858 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Monroe.

He enjoyed bowling, watching the Packers, Badgers and was a Brewers fan, but most of all, he was an avid fisherman and loved to go to his trailer in Prairie Du Chien – Lynxville, Wisconsin.

He is survived by his two children, Allen (Jill) Schultz and Joy (Bobby) Burns; four grandchildren, Alison (Kyler) Royston, Brad Schultz, Taurie (Tommy) Meier and Blake Burns; a sister, Shirley (Bruce) Sutherland; a brother-in-law, Duane Schneider; a special friend, Carol Popanz and many other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death a brother, Leland Schultz in 2014.

Funeral services and visitation were held at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead on Feb. 28, 2022.

Burial is at the Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead.
