Harvard man killed in Walworth County accident
On Thursday, March 2, at approximately 6:44 a.m., Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Walworth Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a report of a two-car crash on Highway 14 just south of the Village of Walworth in Walworth County, Wis.
Emergency response was initiated and upon arrival police, fire, and rescue units located two vehicles that had crashed in the roadway.
Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by 59-year-old Steven Johnson of Fontana, was southbound on Highway 14 in its lane of travel. A black 2001 Hyundai driven by 39-year-old Luis Gutierrez-Fernandez of Harvard, Ill., was northbound on Highway 14 when it lost control on the icy pavement and crossed over into the path of the Chevrolet Avalanche.
