As many of you know, last winter, we had loggers removing some walnut, red oak, and as many ash trees as possible in the wetland forest area between the Mill Race and Sugar River. The walnut and red oak were only removed in specified spots to give more room for other walnut, oaks, and new plantings. The ash trees are being removed before we lose them all to the ash borer. We know that we are going to have a mess when all of the ash trees die off, so hopefully, with the removals, the mess will be more manageable.

That leads to our main goal: managing and restoring the area. We are paid for all the trees removed, and that money will go back into restoration.
