Orangeville, IL – Jack Schwenneker, age 93, passed away at Walnut Acres Nursing Home in Freeport on March 30, 2023.

Jack was born on September 29, 1929 in Hilsdale, IL the son of Harry and Alberta (Wilder) Schwenneker.  After graduating, Jack was drafted and served in the US Army during the Korean War Conflict.  He moved back home to farm and married Georgia Rowan in 1955. She preceded him in death in 1970.  He was later remarried to Leanne Hilton on June 11, 1976 in Freeport, IL.

Jack was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Hall in Freeport.  Jack worked for many years as a farmer and carpenter.  He enjoyed reading and over the years attending many auctions.

Jack is survived by his wife, Leanne; 6 children, Tammy (Rod) Haas, Marsha Fisher (Ted Marr), Jeff (Lina) Schwenneker, Becky (Steve) Kauk, Sean Hilton and Erin Atkinson (Scott Hoffman); 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard (Janice) Schwenneker; his special friends, Tom Hoffman,  Marlow Walters and Larry (Darlene) Torine and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Georgia, two children, Mike and Pat Hilton; two siblings, Harry Schwenneker and Beverly Robinson and his three dogs, Trixie, Cleo and Charlie.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family in his memory.

Funeral services will be held at the Jehovah Witness Hall, 1000 Longhorn Court in Freeport on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Walker Mortuary in Freeport from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
