JEANNE L. TALLMAN
It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanne Louise Tallman, age 78, announce her death on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the New Glarus Home. To know her was to love her.
She was born to the late Paul and Martha (Boll) Wunderlin on Aug. 9, 1943. She was welcomed by her older brother Richard (Trevetta), and later welcomed another brother Robert (Elaine).
After graduation from Platteville High School, she married Adrian Tallman Jr. on Jan. 6, 1962. They had five wonderful and caring children, Marilyn (Jim) Olmsted of Newport News, Virginia Bill (Joy) Tallman of Evansville, Steve (Carol) Tallman of Brodhead, Cathy (Carl) Fink of New Glarus and Susan Marie Tallman.
If you knew her, knew she only had children to get to the good stuff, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her prides and joys.
She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her husband Adrian in 1999 and a daughter, Susan Marie, in infancy.
She was an active member of the Lafayette County Homemakers for 30 years.
While raising her family, she also worked outside the home at Borg, Land’s End and the Lafayette County Manor. T
his didn’t slow her down from helping out wherever needed on the farm and being a supportive wife. She was never one to turn down a card game or travel anywhere.
Some of her fondest memories were the adventures she had with her sister-in-law, Judy.
Watching the Packers and yelling loudly was one of her passions. Watching with family made it even better. Her grandson, Joey, made it the best when he would watch the game with her and bring all the best party food for their tailgate party.
She was a social butterfly, and would talk to anyone and give directions to places that she had never been to.
Everything she did was with a full heart and those who knew her are all better people for knowing and loving her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Agrace Hospice Care or to the family in her memory.
Funeral services will be held at the DL Newcomer Home in Brodhead on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11 a.m.
Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 3 from 5-7 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated and her cremains buried at the Hillside Cemetery in Platteville at a later date.
