Jennie Kay Schmitz, age 74, passed away on Nov. 9, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital.

She was born on May 8, 1948, in Monroe, the daughter of Robert and Viola (Johnson) Tschabold.

She married Stanley Charles Schmitz Sr. on June 17, 1967, at the Avon Community Church in Avon.

She worked for 33 years before her retirement at Advance Transformer in Monroe.

She enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband and spending time with family.

She also enjoyed spending time at their cabin up north in Michigan and spending time with her family during the summer for many years at Camp Minnehaha.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Schmitz Sr.; one son, Stan (Kari) Schmitz; two grandchildren, Reece Schmitz (Aaliyah) and Dalton Schmitz; one great-grandchild, Islea Jean Schmitz; one sister, Bonnie Tryan; and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Viola Tschabold.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family in her memory.

Funeral services took place at DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead on Sunday, Nov. 13,at 11 a.m.  A visitation also tookplace at the funeral home. Burial concluded at the Avon Township Cemetery.
